What are Letters from Littlefoot?

Basically it’s a snail mail / pen pal club to promote reading and writing for horse lovers. Starting in January 2027 your horse lover will receive a physical letter from a real Florida lesson pony named Littlefoot. Your horse lover will receive an honorary Littlefoot membership club card, photos, stickers, and activities designed to bring out the author in them.

Each Month has a Theme

  • January’s theme is Goal Setting.

  • February’s theme is Developing a Growth Mindset Mistakes help us learn.

  • March’s theme is Confidence Confidence grows one brave step at a time.

  • April’s theme is Responsibility Taking care of horses means others can count on you.

  • May’s theme is Kindness Kindness makes every barn a better place.

  • June’s theme is Perseverance Keep trying, even when things are hard.

  • July’s theme is Teamwork Great riders never succeed alone.

  • August’s theme is Routine & Good Habits Small daily habits create great horsemen.

  • September’s theme is Curiosity Ask questions. Learn something new.

  • October’s theme is Courage Being brave doesn't mean you're never scared.

  • November’s theme is Gratitude Be thankful for horses, family, and friends.

  • December’s theme is Celebration & Reflection Look how far you've come!

The story Littlefoot tells will hopefully provide a different perspective on that month’s theme. Each letter will have one goodie, and a Hoofprints in the Sand newsletter where little foot introduces you to a new horse in his herd, a fun fact about living in Florida as a horse, and catches you up on a little lesson horse gossip. Then Littlefoot will ask questions to inspire your horse lover to find their inner author. That brings us to the member’s only pages.

Members Only Pages

In the member’s only pages, Littlefoot will feature stories written and submitted by his pen pals. He will give encouraging comments on the story and enter it to win the year end Littlefoot Literacy Award.

Littlefoot has a lot to say, (as most opinionated lesson ponies do) so he will also write a blog post (or two) a month educating readers about horses. He will also give a shout out on your horse lovers birthday.
