INFORMATION WE COLLECT

From the responsible adult, we may collect a name, email address, mailing address, relationship to the young reader, membership and account details, communications, and information needed to process a cancellation or refund. Payment and billing information is handled through Squarespace and its payment-processing partners; we do not receive or store complete payment-card numbers.

About the young reader, we may collect only the information the responsible adult chooses to provide: a first or preferred name, age range, birthday month and day, reading interests, favorite things, and other preferences used to personalize membership materials. We do not request a young reader's email address, phone number, school, social media information, or full date of birth.

Like most websites, this site and its service providers may automatically receive limited technical information such as an IP address, browser or device information, pages visited, and cookies or similar identifiers needed for security, account access, site operation, and basic analytics.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use information to:

• create and manage the adult-controlled membership account;

• mail monthly Letters from Littlefoot materials from January through December 2027;

• personalize letters, birthday wishes, reading activities, and member content;

• provide access to the member site;

• communicate with the responsible adult about enrollment, mailings, account changes, cancellations, refunds, and support;

• protect the site, prevent misuse, keep business records, and comply with legal obligations; and

• understand and improve the program.

YOUNG READERS AND ONLINE PRIVACY

We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children. Young readers should not create an account, make a purchase, complete an enrollment form, or send personal information to us without the responsible adult. The membership account and email address must belong to and be managed by the adult.

The online member area is intended to provide reading-related content. Young readers should use it with the responsible adult's knowledge and supervision. We do not provide a feature for children to publicly post personal information.

If we learn that a child submitted personal information directly without the responsible adult's involvement, please contact us. We will take reasonable steps to delete it and, when appropriate, communicate with the adult.

HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not knowingly use young-reader information for targeted advertising.

We may share only what is reasonably necessary with service providers that help us operate the program. These may include Squarespace and its payment-processing partners for website hosting, checkout, membership accounts, forms, and payment services; email providers for adult communications; and postal or shipping carriers, including the United States Postal Service, to deliver membership mail. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the program.

MAIL PRIVACY

The mailing address should be the responsible adult's household address. The outer envelope will be addressed to the responsible adult. Materials inside may use the young reader's first or preferred name and interests.

DATA RETENTION AND SECURITY

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed to operate the 2027 membership, complete mailings and refunds, respond to requests, maintain required business records, and resolve disputes. We then delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of information when it is no longer needed.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and limit access to people and providers who need the information for program operations. No website, email, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

THE RESPONSIBLE ADULT'S CHOICES AND RIGHTS

The responsible adult may contact us to:

• review the personal information associated with the membership;

• correct or update information;

• change the mailing address or personalization preferences;

• ask us to delete young-reader information;

• withdraw permission for further use of the information; or

• cancel the membership under the Membership Terms.

Send requests to PinellasHorse@hotmail.com or call 727-637-3022. We may need to verify the requester's identity and connection to the membership before providing, changing, or deleting information. Deleting information needed for mailing or account access may prevent us from continuing the membership.

COOKIES AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Squarespace and other necessary service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, secure accounts, process checkout, and provide basic analytics. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy policies. The responsible adult can use browser controls and any cookie settings offered on the site, although blocking essential cookies may prevent checkout or member access from working properly.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy if the program or our information practices change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and, when a change is material, notify the responsible adult by email or another reasonable method before the change applies.
